Membership Corner
The Knights of Columbus Supreme Council and sometimes the State Council frequently publicize incentives to boost our membership. Rewards vary from special drawings, barbecue utensil sets to other more inviting rewards such as trips to the Vatican in Rome. While all these rewards and recognition programs are good and effective in increasing our ranks, one of the strongest motivators are the reasons why you and I joined. I do not think most of us were strong-armed into joining – we joined because we believe in the values and principles of the Knights of Columbus and want to contribute something to the organization - besides our membership dues. Therefore, if we think the K of C is good for us, we should willingly and enthusiastically be going out and telling other Catholic men why we joined and in so doing, convincing them to do likewise.

Membership recruiting should not be the responsibility and duty solely of the Grand Knight or the Membership Chairman. It is incumbent on all of us members to share the wealth and help recruit new members. If you need information or assistance, please call Bill Walker, Membership Chairman or help yourself to the literature at the back of the church. As a Council, we have been doing a great job of recruiting but there are still a lot of eligible Catholics who could be members.

LET US KEEP THE RECRUITING EFFORT STRONG!

Fraternally,

Bill Walker
